Abstract

A built-in spotlight has a holder for fastening it to a mounting surface, in particular the ceiling of a room, and a lamp socket mounted in a rotary or swivelling manner in a housing closed in the direction of illumination by a transparent cover in an at least substantially dust-tight manner. In this built-in spotlight, the transparent cover is not coupled to the swivelling lamp socket, and therefore the transparent cover extends parallel to the mounting surface, in particular flush therewith, in every swivelling position of the lamp socket.
