Abstract

The invention relates to a follow-on composite tool (1), for producing a structured metal foil (4) having at least two structures (39, 41), whereby one of the two structures (39, 41) at least partially overlaps the other structure (41, 39) and the follow-on composite tool (1) consists of a tool upper part (6) and a tool lower part (7). The aim of the invention is to provide a device which allows to produce very thin, structured metal foils having a large area while meeting high quality standards. For this purpose, the follow-on composite tool (1) comprises at least three physically separate working areas (2, 5, 37), namely a punching section (37), for removing foil material in defined positions on the metal foil (4), a primary shaping section (5) for imparting the preferably undulated primary structure (41) to the metal foil (4), and a secondary shaping section (2) for imparting the preferably undulated secondary structure (46) to the metal foil (4), preferably in the area of the primary structure (41) of the metal foil (4). The invention also relates to a method for producing a structured metal foil.
