Abstract

The ladder comprises side rails and rungs in a conventional manner. In order to improve the standing security, support bars (7), extending to both sides from the upper part of the side rails, are provided. The connection between the support bars (7) and the side rails (1) is achieved by means of a joint (5) which may be moved in several directions. The support bars (7) are embodied as telescopically-engaging tubes, which may thus be adjusted for length, for support on the ground and which may be locked in the desired extension position. The standing security of the ladder is effectively increased by means of the locking and ground support of the support bars with a spread arrangement.
