Abstract

An oven heats e.g. steel blocks or profiles or similar and has an internal floor consisting of a heat-resistant base panel block that is of rectangular to trapezoidal planform. The base block is made of a composite material with an upper layer with a first set of properties and a lower layer with a second set of properties. The upper layer is optimized with respect with its exposure to flame, sparks and hot scale. The lower layer is optimized with respect to impact strength.
