Quick release device for an outwardly opening, locked door (4), the mortise dead lock (5) of which engages with its locking bolt (8) into a striking plate (12) consisting of a stationary inner component (15) and a movable lap component (16), of which the inner component (15) is fixed, opposite the lock face plate (6), in a recess of the fixed door frame (2) and of which the lap component (16) is situated on the outer face of the fixed frame (2), a bolt (24), capable of being actuated independently of the mortise dead lock (5) being journalled on the inner component (15), which (bolt 24), in the locking position, is in engagement with the lap component (16) and, after quick release, disengages the lap component (16), so that the latter, as the door (4) is opened, can be lifted off the preclosed locking bolt (8) from the outside of the fixed frame (2), characterized in that the preclosed locking bolt (8) bears against the lap component (16), the engagement of which with the locking bolt (8) can be cancelled from the inside of the fixed frame (2).
