Abstract

The windscreen heating device has a control device (3) for regulating the electrical power supplied to the electric heating element (1) for the rear and/or front windscreen, in dependence on detected automobile parameters, e.g. the vehicle velocity, the slipstream, the internal and/or external temperature and the external humidity level. The detected parameters may be used to address a memory holding a characteristic profile for the specific automobile, used by the control device for regulating the power for the windscreen heating element.
