Abstract
The method involves providing a storage medium containing stored data about possible welding defects and associated repair welding parameters. A workpiece is welded with a laser to produce weldings on the workpiece. The produced weldings are monitored for defective weldings. The defective welding is compared with the stored data about possible welding defects. Repair welding parameters are selected based on the comparison. An independent claim is also included for an apparatus comprising a defect monitor for laser welding a workpiece.
