Abstract

Storage procedure consists of transporting the powdered or granular material pneumatically, using an inert gas, and packing and vacuum sealing in supple sacks to form blocks that can be stacked inside a rigid container. The inert gas used for transporting the material is a mixture of nitrogen and 5 - 30 per cent of a gas with a disinfectant action, e.g. chlorine. The supple sacks are preferably double-walled for an improved seal, and the material is separated from the transporting gas in a suitable system e.g. a cyclone.
