Abstract

This invention concerns an aluminum alloy casting characterized by an iron content of less than about 0.5% by weight, and a gas content of less than or equal to 5 milliliters (STP) per 100 grams of aluminum, said casting having a yield strength in tension (0.2% offset) greater than or equal to 110 MPa and a free bend deformation greater than or equal to 25 min.
