Abstract

The invention concerns an electrical switch, for instance a contactor, protective circuit breaker or relay, with a locking-screw securing device. The switch (1) is fitted with at least one locking screw (2) with a washer (3), the same number of fixed contact pieces (6) as there are locking screws (2), plus an inner cover (5) which covers over the switch compartment and, disposed over it, an outer cover which acts as a lead-insertion guide (4) and has through-bores (40) coaxial with the locking screws (2) as well as snap-in engagement means enabling it to be fitted on to the switch (1). The switch-compartment cover (5) has, extending along its sides, flanges (50) associated with the locking screws (2), the flanges having a through-hole (51) located coaxially with each locking screw (2) and each through-bore (40) in the lead-insertion guide (4). When not in the screwed-down position, the locking screws (2) are held in the flanges (50) so that they cannot drop out.
