Abstract
The method for producing castings where the pouring funnel and feeders are located in the mould division plane, and that assembled mould box halves are transported in an upright, standing position into the casting station. The corresponding casting installation includes a track (6) for transport of mould box halves (4, 5) in lying position to a mould making station (8), and a further track (12) with a rotating unit (13) for orienting the mould box halves so that their division planes (24) face upwards. It further includes a core insertion section (15), a rotating unit (16), and a unit (17) for joining the mould box halves, as well a casting and demoulding station (25). The installation is characterised by the presence of a rotating unit (20) which turns the assembled mould boxes through 90 for subsequent transport along the section (21).
