Abstract

Half the number of striker ridges (4,6) have a higher resistance to wear than the other half (5,7). The two sorts of striker ridges are arranged alternatingly in sequence. Those with that may have higher wear resistance have a greater height than those with less wear resistance. The height (h) of those with less wear resistance can amount to 70-90 per cent of the height (h') of those with greater wear resistance. The ridges with greater wear resistance can be made from a very hard iron material which is ductile, self-hardening, with a metal-carbide portion in the matrix or an iron-ceramic compound material with hardness values between 45 and 67 Rockwell Hardness C. Those with less wear resistance may be made from a self-hardening iron material with a manganese content of 12-25 per cent and a chrome content of 0.5-7 per cent.
