Abstract

1. Pulsatory burner having a combustion chamber (2) to which there leads, for the periodic intake of liquid fuel, a nozzle (4) arranged in a suction pipe (42) and connected by way of a conduit (10) containing a non-return valve (8) with a fuel ves-el (12), and having a starting air pump (18) by means of which, for starting, an air current can be generated which sweeps over the nozzle (4) and is directed to the combustion chamber (2), characterised in that the conduit (10) is conducted through a chamber (20) the volume of which can be reduced by displacement of a wall (22) by means of compressed air delivered by the starting air pump (18), in that in the conduit (10) between the chamber (20) and the fuel vessel (12) there is situated a valve (28) which can be opened against spring pressure (26) by the fuel flowing out of the fuel vessel (12) and in that the valve (28) comprises a setting member (32) upon which the displaceable wall (22) acts, after a pre-determined displacement distance, for the opening of the valve (28).
