Abstract

The different coloured ink are each supplied in a cartridge (4) which is loaded into a cylindrical holder (12). The holder has a pressure cap with seals (18) to seal the cartridge holding cylinder. A pneumatic piston (11) sits on top of the cartridge and is pressed onto the cartridge by compressed air admitted via a control valve (21) in the cover. The ink is dispensed through an exit duct (16) in the bottom of the dispenser. The outside of the holder is fitted with a profiled grip which is used to mount the holder into the printing machine. A typical mounting has the holder fitted on a rail to dispense ink over the length of a dosing roller.
