Abstract

Non-ferrous heavy-metal alloy, nickel-free apart from, at most, 0.09% as a result of smelting, having a composition in per cent by weight of: Mn: more than 5.0 up to 15.00% Al: from 4.0 to 7.50% Fe: from 1.0 to 2.80% B: from 0.0005 to 0.01% Si: from 0.0 to 0.30% Ni: from 0.0 to 0.09% C: from 0.0 to 0.08% S: from 0.0 to 0.03% P: from 0.0 to <0.01% the remainder being copper with impurities due to smelting. Such a copper mixed-crystal alloy is particularly suitable as a material for jewellery and metal objects which, in normal use, are in contact with the skin, especially for spectacle frames and parts of spectacle frames and coins. The alloys according to the invention do not trigger any nickel-caused allergies.
