Abstract
The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for removing deposits, especially metal oxide (e.g. rust) or scale deposits in a pipeline system. In order to improve efficiency, the invention proposes to inject, by means of at least one ultrasonic source (14) arranged within the pipeline system (2) and surrounded by water, ultrasonic vibration energy in the pipeline system (2). Expediently, the ultrasonic vibration energy is injected in a longitudinal direction with respect to the pipeline system (2), said vibration being superimposed, by using a further ultrasonic source (16,16%), with vibrations which run obliquely or perpendicularly to the pipe wall of the pipeline system. <IMAGE>
