Abstract
The treatment of tubes in liquid is carried out using one or more rod-shaped radiator head fitted magnetostrictive transducers which are pressed against the moving workpiece at an acute angle relative to its direction of movement the heads being held by an adjustable holder. All radiator heads are disposed at identical angles and the progressive motion of the workpiece is caused by the tangential component of the oscillation forces present at the end faces of the radiators. The holders pref. comprise segmental slots to which the heads are clamped. The axes of the angles at which the heads are held are offset relative to the workpiece axis causing it to axially rotate during its forward movement.
