Abstract
Tensioning strand consisting of a plurality of tensioning elements 1, such as for example rods, cords or wires, which extend parallel to one another and are covered by at least one common plastics sheath 2 preferably made of polyethylene or the like. In order that the tensioning strand requires only a small space in the support structure, the plastics sheath 2 tightly encloses the tensioning elements 1, which are connected tightly in contact with each other in an ordered configuration, the centre points of adjacent tensioning elements 1 lying at the corners of equilateral triangles or quadrangles. The interstices 4, 5 between the tensioning elements 1 can be filled with respect to one another by a permanently flexible compound, the compound also being able to penetrate between the tensioning elements 1 and the plastics sheath 2, so that the tensioning elements 1 can slide in the plastics sheath 2. In the process for manufacturing the tensioning strand, preferably a vacuum calibrator is used after the tensioning elements 1 have been guided in mutual contact through an extruder, or, if necessary, first through the permanently flexible compound. <IMAGE>
