Abstract

A ventilating apparatus for rooms 1 is proposed, with a narrow, elongate housing 2 which consists of extrusion-moulded and/or extruded profiles 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and two endpieces 8. It has a chamber 19 provided with inner air passage openings 20 and outer air passage openings 21 and its housing 2 is inserted into a wall opening adapted to its dimensions or into a gap between a wing leg or frame leg of a window or of a door and the edge of a guide element, e.g. a glass pane, arranged therein. In the chamber 19 of the housing 2, the inner and/or outer air passage openings 20, 21 are assigned a strip-shaped shut-off member 22 which can be displaced between a closed position and an open position and on which an adjusting device 23 engages, which is located in or on the endpieces 8 of the housing 2 and can be actuated via a swivel arm 34 projecting from one of the endpieces 8. The ventilating apparatus 1 is characterised in that the shut-off member 22 is held and guided both pivotably movably as well as longitudinally and transversely displaceably inside the chamber 19 of the housing 2 relative to the inner air passage openings 20 or the outer air passage openings 21 with the aid of an adjusting device 23, and in that in this case, by means of the swivelling movement of the shut-off member 22, its open position and closed position can be determined relative to the air passage openings 20 or 21 while, by combined longitudinal and transverse displacement, its closed position on the housing 2 can be alternatively locked and unlocked over its entire length. <IMAGE>
