Abstract

Aqueous binders for the consolidation of textile materials which yield high strength values even at high temperatures, but on drying and condensation liberate little formaldehyde, contain an aqueous dispersion of a film-forming, self-crosslinking emulsion polymer and a polymer dissolved in the aqueous phase of the binder, which is made up of up to 10 to 100% by weight of acrylamide and/or methacrylamide, the weight ratio of the two constituents as dry matter being 99:1 to 70:30.
