Abstract
An immersion casting pipe for the introduction of molten metal, in particular molten steel, into the charging region of a continuous casting plant, consists of an inflow part connected to a casting vessel and of a flattened outlet part with at least one surface arranged in the direction of flow. To improve the inflow conditions and obtain a steel strip with a uniformly defect-free surface, the outflow part (10) has at least one surface (17) for dividing the flow into at least two individual flows (19) and surfaces (13, 14) for directing the individual flows (19) towards one another in front of the outflow opening (15). <IMAGE>
