Abstract

The device for orienting and opening flat-lying plastic bags (S) has a delivery table (2) at which, to align the bag, two bars (3, 4) extending in parallel at a distance are held so as to be capable of being moved to and fro with respect to each other by means of a drive (16) in one direction beneath the table and are equipped with centring fingers (5) projecting upwards through slots in the table. To align the bag in the other direction, there is provided between the bars (3, 4) an endless conveyor which extends parallel to the bars and can be reversibly driven and whose upper strand (15a) extends in a recess in the table just above the plane of the table. Assigned to said conveyor are pressure rollers (17 or 18, 19) which can be lowered onto the end regions of the upper strand 15a of the conveyor. Furthermore, sensors (24, 25) which can be activated in each case by the deposited bag, are arranged in the table plate so as to control the lifting movement of the pressure rollers and the endless conveyor. <IMAGE>
