Abstract

The invention relates to the manufacture of compression-moulded profiles or such like formed articles (18) from organic particle mixtures to which binding agent is added. To increase the productivity substantially compared with the prior art according to DE-A-3307557, a formed-article blank (9) is first formed by means of prepressing jaws (4 to 7) acting successively from different directions, and is then transferred to a columnar structure (row 19) of a main pressing station (14), said structure consisting of alternately arranged pressing jaws (17) and interposed formed articles (18). Acting on this pressing-jaw row (19) are pressure generators (15, 16) which, on the one hand, form the final shape of the formed article (18) and, on the other hand, guide the pressing-jaw row (19) through a curing channel (20). Each individual pressing jaw (18) is constructed, on one pressing side, as a male mould (28) and, on the opposite side as a female mould (29). <IMAGE>
