Abstract
Rollers, comprising a drive roller (32) and a pressure roller (31) include a groove (84) accommodating welding wire (13). On at least one of the rollers there is a centering element (81), i.e. a centering configuration or component. The centering element automatically causes mutual alignment of the rollers with each other and/or with the wire. At the periphery of the pressure roller, the centering element (81) comprises a funnel-shaped indentation (82), when seen in cross section. At the periphery of the drive roller there is a complementary centering element, comprising a V-shaped projection (83). The roller has an indentation (82) matching the V-shaped projection. The groove (84) accommodating the welding wire is made into the V-shaped indentation and/or into the V-shaped projection. At least one roller, especially the pressure roller, is carried in bearings permitting it to slide in the direction of the axis of rotation. One roller, especially that with the V-projection, is rigidly connected to the shaft. The other with the V-shaped depression, can be slid along the shaft. One or preferably both rollers are shaft-connected to a drive motor. The groove for the welding wire intervenes between two centering elements.
