Abstract

A two-stroke internal combustion engine with crankcase purging has an inlet channel 7, which is connected to the crankcase 11 and is provided with a non-return valve 15, for the induction of purging air, which can be controlled as a function of the engine load by means of a control member in the inlet channel 7, a device for introducing fuel into the purging air, at least one excess-flow channel 9 for feeding fresh gas between the crankcase 11 and the cylinder 2, and a channel 12, which opens into this excess-flow channel 9 and is provided with a non-return valve 15, for a purging receiver. In order to ensure advantageous air control, it is proposed that the inlet channel 7 and the channel 12 for the purging receiver be designed in a manner known per se as branch lines of a common induction channel 14 which has a throttle device 18, that the device for introducing the fuel, as is likewise known per se, consists of an injection nozzle 19 for a controlled amount of fuel, and that the maximum opening width of the non-return valve 15 in inlet channel 7 can be adjusted by means of the control member for the purging air, which control member can be controlled as a function of the engine load. <IMAGE>
