The invention relates to a spray head arrangement with extruders and diverter valves for sheathing an electrical conductor with insulation, in particular made of foam polyethylene, and with a tight coating and with identification strips.
In the manufacture of electrically insulated conductors, the electrical insulation also serves to mechanically protect the conductor and the identifier. It is known to use two extruders together with a changeover valve in order to bring about a color change during production. Either one extruder works while the other is rinsed and recolored, or both work, whereby a change of layer is possible and the covered coating can also be recolored during ongoing production. However, if the insulation is not suitable for technological reasons due to the electrical properties or due to the mechanical parameters as a tight, solid coating to the outside or cost reasons speak against it, then insulation and a solid outer coating are applied one above the other.
Both the color of the coating can be used to identify an electrical cable and one or more color identification strips.
The invention aims to provide a spray head arrangement with extruders and diverter valves which is specifically geared towards the flexible production of electrically insulated wires with an insulating jacket and a solid coating as well as with one or more color codes. The individual materials can have different technological properties and thus cause different pressure conditions in the spray head. It is an object of the invention to keep the pressure conditions in the spray head unchanged with an optimal possibility of variation through color changing processes.
This is achieved with a spray head arrangement of the type described in the introduction in that an extruder on the spray head is provided exclusively for the application of the insulation and in that two extruders are connected to a changeover valve, each of which one of the two extruders optionally with the spray head for producing the sealed seal Coating

and connects the other with a discharge line for rinsing in the event of a color change, and that two further extruders are connected to a further changeover valve, each of which connects one of the two extruders either with the spray head for producing the identification strip or strips and the other with a discharge line for rinsing in the event of a color change . A total of four extruders come into contact with the spray head via two diverter valves and a fifth extruder in direct feed.
This means that there is no need to change the spray head, even if a foamed plastic, such as foam polyethylene, is used for insulation. The arrangement takes into account that the foam mass used for the insulation does not reach other zones of the spray head by changing the position.
An embodiment of the spray head arrangement according to the invention is shown in the drawing. The Fig. Shows a spray head with two diverter valves in section and five extruders, which are indicated as arrows.
A spray head 1, which is designed as a cross spray head, has a central wire guide 2, in the end area of which an insulating compound duct 3, a duct 4 for the tight coating and a duct 5 for the outer identification, in particular for identification strips, open. This allows a z. B. by foam polyethylene electrically insulated, densely coated and provided with color-identification strips wire 6. The insulating compound is fed directly from an extruder 7 which is connected directly to the spray head 1. For the tight coating, two extruders 8, 9 are provided, which are located on the spray head 1 via a changeover valve 10. In the exemplary embodiment, the extruder 8 feeds the channel 4. The extruder 9 is connected to a discharge line 11 for rinsing. He is being prepared for a color change.
By moving the valve 10, the remaining mass of the extruder 8 is discharged via the discharge line 11 and its rinsing or recoloring (supply with a different or different colored extrudable mass or granulate) can begin. The extruder 9 then works into the channel 4 and its plasticized mass encases the insulation which is

Mass channel 3 is applied to the wire 6. The extruded masses of the optionally connectable extruders 8 and 9 are of the same consistency, so that the pressure conditions in the spray head 1 do not change during the change process or after this.
Two further extruders 12, 13 are also connected to the spray head 1 via a changeover valve 14. In the exemplary embodiment, these are less powerful types, which are responsible for the identification strips and can optionally be connected to the strip channel 5. The extruder 12 supplies the strip channel 5, while the extruder 13 is switched off here and — after a flushing process with removal of the remaining amount in the screw region by a discharge line (not shown in more detail) —can be connected to the spray head 1. In this case too, the extruder masses of the extruders 12, 13 are of the same consistency, so that the pressure conditions in the spray head 1 do not change when the changeover valve 14 is also changed.
The extruder 7, which is responsible for the insulation of the electrical conductor, can also be connected to the spray head via a changeover valve or a changer. This results in the possibility of switching to a further extruder 7 ′, which introduces different insulation. The extruders 12 and / or 13 can of course also be used with the corresponding nozzle insert to produce a thin color coating instead of the strips or in addition to a strip. Several identification strips of different colors can also be produced. The color-providing extruders 12 and 13 can be assigned by means of additional channels in the changeover valve in such a way that both extruders are switched on to the spray head at the same time and at the same time produce strips of different color codes next to one another.
