Coupling device for trailer trailers of tractors.
The coupling between the tractors and the trailer is usually done by one at the rear. wärtigen end of the tractor in the central axis provided coupling device. When cornering, of course, the axis of rotation of the tractor does not coincide with the axis of the coupling device and, depending on the direction of rotation of the tractor, it therefore makes a circular movement in one way or the other, whereby the trailer in one or the other
Meaning needs to be shifted.
In the case of caterpillar tractors, in which, as is well known, the rotation about the central axis of one or the other caterpillar takes place, this inconvenience becomes even more noticeable. Since the tractor only works with a caterpillar, with a heavy tensile load it can happen that the tractor is not able to move the trailer, but on the contrary adjusts itself again in the direction of the trailer. To counter this inconvenience, a pivoting rod was already mounted in the center of the tractor, which ends in an eyelet into which the trailer or the like is hung by means of a chain.
As a result, the point of application of the load was probably moved to the center of the tractor, but the inconvenience occurred again that the attached load remained without guidance, which made the use of this movable coupling impossible, especially when driving downhill. A combination of the two devices did not produce any favorable results either, because if the load was pulled in the straight line by the coupling element acting in the middle of the tractor, it would have to be pulled through the rigid drawbar connection in the curve.
The present invention is based on the idea of avoiding the aforementioned inconveniences in that the length of the drawbar of the trailer can be changed and therefore automatically adapts to the respective requirements. This means that the trailer wagon is steered by the drawbar, but the pull is carried out by the pulling element acting in the middle of the tractor. In the critical moment of pivoting the tractor, the trailer is relieved of the load because the drawbar gives way without moving the trailer.
In the drawing, the subject matter of the invention is illustrated schematically in plan view.
1, 2 are the caterpillars of a caterpillar tractor. A rod 4 is pivotably mounted around the central axis, J of the visual stepper, the end of which is formed into an eyelet 41 to which the trailer trolley is connected.
At the rear end of the platform of the tractor, a suspension eye 5 for the drawbar 6 of the trailer is provided in the extended central axis. According to the invention, this drawbar can be changed in its length, which is achieved, for example, by the fact that it consists of two telescopically

can be pulled apart. The drawbar is automatically adjusted to the required length and therefore gives the front wheels of the trailer the necessary turn when cornering due to the rigid connection.
