  Verfahren zur Herstellung von weiss gefärbten   Kunstmassen.   



   Die meisten Verfahren zur Herstellung weisser Phenolaldehyd-Kondensationsprodukte als Elfen-   beinersatz zeigen den Übelstand, dass gleichmässig reinweiseFärbungen nicht hervorgerufen werden   können, sondern die Färbung immer einen Stich ins Gebliche besitzt. Gemäss der Erfindung wird dieser Übelstand dadurch beseitigt, dass als Weissfärbungsmittel kolloidale, wässerige Lösungen benützt werden, die entweder an sich weiss sind oder bei der Koagulation weiss werden. Bei   Ausführung des Verfahrens   wird den noch löslichen, plastischen Kunstharzmassen nach Entfernung der überschüssigen Reaktionskomponenten (Formaldehyd und Phenol) sowie des Wassers vor der Härtung das als Färbemittel dienende Hydrosol zugesetzt. 



   Als Färbemittel können sowohl kolloidale anorganische, als auch kolloidale organische Verbindungen   benützt werden,   z. B. Hydrosole des Thorium-oder Zirkoniumhydroxyds, kolloidale Eiweissverbindungen wie Milch u.   dgl.,   die an sich weiss gefärbt sind, oder bei der Koagulation einen weissen Körper zu geben vermögen. 



   1. Beispiel :
100 Teile des in bekannter Weise von Phenol, Formaldehyd und Wasser befreiten, dickflüssigen, durchsichtigen Zwischenkondensationsproduktes, werden innig mit mindestens 10 Teilen einer nach den

 lösung durchgearbeitet, worauf in bekannter Weise gehärtet wird. 



   IL Beispiel :
100 Teile des in Beispiel 1 beschriebenen Kondensationsproduktes werden mit mindestens 10 Teilen Milch gut durchgearbeitet, worauf die Mischung der Härtung zugeführt wird. 



   PATENT-ANSPRÜCHE :
1. Verfahren zur Herstellung weisser Kunstmassen aus Phenolaldehydkondensationsprodukten, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass   Phenolaldehyd-Zwischenkondensationsprodukte   mit kolloidalen Lösungen, die an sich weiss sind oder bei der Koagulation weisse Körper ausscheiden, als Färbemittel vermischt werden und die Mischung in der üblichen Weise gehärtet wird.
