Verfahren zur Herstellung von borsäurehaltigem Glas und glasartigen Massen.
Vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur He. stellung von borsäurehaltigem Glas und glasartigen Massen, wie z. B. Email od. dgl., bei welchem an Stelle von Borax und bzw. odei Borsäure Natriumpentaborat verwendet wird. Dadurch wird erreicht, dass infolge des geringeren Gehaltes des Pentaborats an Kristallwasser im Verhältnis zu dem grossen Borsäuregehalt dieses Produktes bei der Herstellung der Schmelze Brennmaterial erspart wird, anderseits das bei der Verwendung von Borax stets auftretende lästige Schäumen der Schmelze ganz bedeutend verringert wird.
Man hat wohl für die Herstellung von Edelemailflüssen auch kalzinierten Borax verwendet, der also kein Kristallwasser enthält, doch ist dieses Verfahren für den Grossbetrieb nicht geeignet, da ja für das Kalzinieren des Borax Brennstoff aufgewendet werden muss und das Produkt daher kostspielig ist. Anderseits hat kalzinierter Borax die Eigenschaft, sehr leicht Wasser aufzunehmen, weshalb er in
