<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

properties of building materials. It looks relatively easy to overcome the difficulties with the fixed elements, such as the guide device and housing, by means of water cooling. It is more difficult to achieve the high temperatures required for good efficiency when running the treadmill
EMI1.3
It has already been proposed that cooling air, which is blocked from any point, either be used in such a way that only the rotor blades are removed from the combustion gases

touched opposite side is cooled. These proposals do not represent a satisfactory solution to the problem because, on the one hand, the special procurement of the cooling air requires appropriate equipment and because the actual impeller is not sufficiently cooled.
Compared to the suggestions made there, the present invention has the difference that the cooling air is brought in and moved by the direct ventilation of the impeller. Even if this measure has already been proposed by another party, the heat-technical sense of the task to be solved has not been recognized because cooling air is used together with the

mixed and lowered the temperature of the former, which has a very unfavorable effect on the thermal efficiency, since a high level of efficiency can only be achieved if the exhaust gases reach the regenerator, which is essential for preheating the agent to be burned, as hot as possible.
The invention is therefore to be seen in the fact that once a partial loading of the running
EMI1.6
Absorption devices are removed without them being able to get into the unaffected part, and that further in the unaffected housing part through special inner supply lines and external discharge lines for a powerful cooling air movement through the ventilation of the impeller, without the cooling air being able to mix with the combustion gases .
In this way it is achieved that the impeller blades come into contact with a hot and a cool medium alternately for very short times, so that the material assumes an average temperature that fluctuates only by small amounts, the height of which is made different depending on the degree of loading selected can be. It is known per se to arrange a receiving device behind the impeller; however, in the known device, air and gas are passed together through the wheel system into the receiving space, which is precisely to be avoided in the subject matter of the invention for the reasons given above.

Can continue. Through the appropriate cross-sectional design of the guide apparatus and the diffuser effect of the collecting apparatus, a negative pressure prevails in the gaps between the pressurized and unsuppressed parts, which in any case prevents hot gases from entering the ventilated part. This measure represents a special development of the general inventive concept.
The subject matter of the invention can be used both for simple and for multiple pressure stages of the work process; in the latter case, the cool ventilation air for the higher pressure levels is to be taken from a suitable pressure level of the combustion air compressor and expediently returned to the same or a lower pressure.
The drawing, which shows the upper part of the impeller in cross-section and which illustrates the concept of the invention, for example in a thematic form, serve for a more detailed explanation. 1 is the impeller sitting on the shaft 2, 3 is the guide device, 4 is the collecting device. 3 and 4 do not extend over the entire circumference of the impeller, but only over a part of the same, which is understandable without a special drawing. The interior 5 of the housing is hot
Gases flowing through, parts 3 and 4 provided with a cooling jacket 6 are connected by narrow gaps 7 and 8, so that one can speak of a gap seal.
The rooms 5 are through a
Ventilated refrigerant gas entering at 9 and 10 and exiting through 11 and 12. The outlet openings 11 and 12 are practically on the part of the turbine housing which is not acted upon, u. Install zw. on the outside as possible so that the rotor blades are strongly cooled by the cooling gas. By appropriate dimensioning of the exit cross-section of the guide device 3 and the development of the cross-section of the collecting device 4, it is expedient to ensure that none of the gaps 7 and 8 are hot
Combustion gases pass into the housing and, conversely, cooling gases are of course only insignificant! 1
Quantities flow up through the gap seal.
