Compressed air flow device to reduce the frictional resistance between
Boat bottom and water.
The invention relates to a compressed air flow device for reducing the frictional resistance between the bottom of the boat and the water and essentially consists in the application of the device on a gliding boat, with a flat bottom sloping backwards and widening and having two side keels, with the outflow nozzles pointing downwards at an angle close behind are arranged at the point of bow wave formation.
In the drawing, an embodiment of a gliding boat provided with such a device is shown in Fig. 1 in longitudinal section, in Fig. 2 in plan view and in Fig. 3 in frame elevation with front and aft view, while Fig. 4 illustrates the arrangement of the outflow nozzles.
EMI1.1
from which the compressed air is passed into two symmetrical pipe systems A, B, from which it is directed downwards against the direction of travel on the rearward sloping and widening flat floor at 1-3 and 1- Il1, for example through the diagonally downward sloping backwards shown in FIG Exhaust nozzles emerge close to the point where the bow wave is formed, with two side keels S1 and S2 preventing the air from sliding too quickly.
As a result, an air or air gap is formed under the inclined flat floor. Water foam cushion that prevents friction. Resistance between the bottom of the boat and the water is reduced and thus contributes to achieving a higher speed.
The air cushion pushed forward by the sloping flat bottom and as a result of the friction on the surface of the water, but pushed backwards as a result of the greater outflow velocity of the compressed air than the speed of travel and as a result of the bow waves, will always remain in its place as a result of these opposing and almost canceling forces.
The compressed air distribution organs can be coupled with the control system of the vehicle in such a way that the outflow conditions created by this coupling when the symmetrical pipe systems are throttled on one side change the driving friction resistance and thus support the action of the control organs.
