Fig. 1 ist Querschnitt und Fig. 2 Hintenansicht der Einrichtung. Fig. 3 zeigt das Zurückschaltungswerk im Querschnitt.
Fig. 4-7 sind Längsschnitte bzw. Vorderansichten von Anschlagstellen des Negativs. Fig. 8 und 9 ist Querschnitt bzw.

Film copying machine with automatic gradation change of exposure and process on film negatives to prepare the same for copying in such
Machinery.
The subject of patent no. 87853 forms a device for automatically changing the different treatment stages of driven film strips, such as. B. the switching of different exposure levels in film copying machines. The gradation change is effected by means of a row of arms divided into the film width according to the graduation number, the arms of which individually interact with elongated holes made in the image field of the negative. In film copying machines, there is the disadvantage that the row of arms constantly touching the back of the film scratches the negative; also that the latter is weakened by the elongated holes, which are also copied over onto the positive in the form of image-disrupting dark areas. The invention now aims to remedy these disadvantages.
The invention relates on the one hand to the design of the film copying machine and on the other hand to the method on film negatives for preparing the same for copying in machines according to the invention.
The drawings represent exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention. FIG. 1 is a cross-section and FIG. 2 is a rear view of the device. Fig. 3 shows the downshift mechanism in cross section.
4-7 are longitudinal sections and front views, respectively, of stop positions of the negative. Figures 8 and 9 are cross-sectional and rear views, respectively, of another embodiment of the device.
While maintaining and continuing the reference numbers of the parent patent, the negative 3 has buttons 381-389 in its image field, each of which interacts with an arm 411-419 of the row now consisting of nine arms. The buttons 381-389 rising from the film plane are used in film

Transverse direction but arranged in the dividing line of the exposure step switch to be operated. They are punched out of the negative 3 itself, which can be done without damaging the image layer, so that the buttons on the copies can no longer be remembered.
The arms 411-419 reach with their noses 421¯429 into the path of the buttons 381-389 without touching the negative 3 and are each provided with a rear towing attachment -4 to which the exposure circuits are connected. The stop play of the arms and buttons can be used as a relay play according to the parent patent, but the drawings represent a device in which the exposure

switch immediately.
The circuits are interrupted at a common mercury contact 44, in which the arms 411-419 with their tongues 451-459 dip. The spring 46 (FIG. 2) tensions the arms to one another so far that the latter remain in their respective position. The arm 411 therefore has to return all arms to the starting position before each exposure change. The same has its own circuit for this purpose (Fig. 3), the path of which leads as follows: Terminal 5, mercury contact 44,. Tongue 459, arm 449, turns 47 of magnet 48, line 49, terminal 6.
