Description

Process for the production of raster print stereoscopic images.

Stereoscopic images produced in the usual halftone printing process (autotype, gravure or the like) have the disadvantage that, when viewed in the stereoscope, they are strongly disrupted by the fact that the grain or the lines of the grid used stand out strongly. because the lights and shadows of both images coincide, which significantly disrupts the image effect. so that the picture does not appear as a closed surface, but rather like a network.

The purpose of the present method is to achieve an image effect in so-called halftone (autotype, gravure or the like) images that make the steeoscopic image appear just as harmonious and vivid when enlarged as a halftone image without a grid or. When viewing a stereoscopic image produced by means of raster printing, the raster structure cancels or if possible. compensates.

In order to achieve this, the procedure for stereoscopic images to be produced using the raster printing process is such that the individual images that complement each other when viewed in the stereoscope are copied by means of different or differently placed grids. For example, a grid can be used for one picture, the lines of which run horizontally and vertically, while for the other a grid is used whose lines are inclined, or a line grid is used for one picture and a grain grid for the other.

The arrangement of different grids for each image ensures that the lights and shadows appear balanced when viewing both images in the stereoscope, which results in a harmonious image effect with a color surface that is as closed as possible. The image acts as a so-called halftone image.
