Elektrischer Sammler.
Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf elektrische Sammler, die abwechselnd aus einer negativen, Zink enthaltenden Elektrode, und einer positiven, die wirksame Substanz enthaltenden Elektrode zusammengesetzt sind. Es ist bekannt, dass bei diesen Sammlern die positiven und negativen Elektroden gewöhnlich über dem Boden der die Elektroden aufnehmenden Zelle gehalten werden.
Bei der Erfindung haben die Zinkplatten, welche die negativen Elektroden bilden, im wesentlichen dasselbe Flächenausmass wie die positiven Elektroden und besitzen an ihrem unteren Rande, der ungefähr in gleicher Höhe mit dem unteren Rande der positiven Elektrode liegt, eigenartige Ansatzstücke aus leitendem Material, welche auf dem Boden der Zelle aufruhen, so dass das Zink, das von den Elektroden abfällt und den Boden berührt, mit den Elektroden in Kontakt bleibt und fortfähit, als wirksamer Zinkbestandteil in dem Sammler zu wirken.
Die Zeichnung zeigt ein Ausführungsbeispiel der Erfindung. Fig. 1 veranschaulicht in einem schematischen Schnitt die Anordnung der Platten in der Zelle des Sammlers, Fig. 2 zeigt die Ansicht einer aus der Zelle herausgenommenen negativen Elektrode.
Der Sammler besteht wie üblich aus positiven Platten 2, negativen Platten 3 und dazwischenliegenden Scheidewänden 4 und 5 aus Zelluloid, Holz oder ähnlichem, die in einer Zelle 1 eingesetzt sind. Die positiven Elektroden 2 werden wie üblich durch isolierende Stützen 6 oder kleine isolierende Füsse über dem Boden der Zelle gehalten.
Jede negative Elektrode 3 hat eine Verlängerung 7, welche auf dem Boden der Zelle ruht. Die Verlängerung 7 Ist mit der Elektrode durch Verbindungsstücke 8 verbunden. Die Teile 7 und 8 sind aus gut leitendem Material und können wie Fig. 2 zeigt aus einem Stück mit der Platte 2 hergestellt sein.
Die Fläche jeder negativen Elektrode ist im wesentlichen gleich der Floche der gegenüberstehenden positiven Elektrode ; hiedurch wird die Möglichkeit von Kurzschlüssen zwischen den negativen und positiven Elektroden vermieden. Das Zink, welches auf den Boden der Zelle f illt, bleibt in elektrischem Kontakt mit den negativen Elektroden und nimmt weiter Teil an der Arbeit des Sammlers.

The invention relates to electrical collectors which are composed alternately of a negative electrode containing zinc and a positive electrode containing the active substance. It is known that with these collectors, the positive and negative electrodes are usually held above the bottom of the electrode-receiving cell.
In the invention, the zinc plates which form the negative electrodes have essentially the same surface area as the positive electrodes and have peculiar extensions made of conductive material on their lower edge, which is approximately at the same height as the lower edge of the positive electrode rest on the bottom of the cell so that the zinc that falls off the electrodes and touches the bottom remains in contact with the electrodes and continues to act as an effective zinc component in the collector.
The drawing shows an embodiment of the invention. Fig. 1 illustrates in a schematic section the arrangement of the plates in the cell of the collector, Fig. 2 shows the view of a negative electrode removed from the cell.
As usual, the collector consists of positive plates 2, negative plates 3 and intermediate partitions 4 and 5 made of celluloid, wood or the like, which are inserted in a cell 1. As usual, the positive electrodes 2 are held above the floor of the cell by insulating supports 6 or small insulating feet.
Each negative electrode 3 has an extension 7 which rests on the bottom of the cell. The extension 7 is connected to the electrode by connecting pieces 8. The parts 7 and 8 are made of highly conductive material and, as FIG. 2 shows, can be made in one piece with the plate 2.
The area of each negative electrode is substantially equal to the area of the opposing positive electrode; this avoids the possibility of short circuits between the negative and positive electrodes. The zinc that fills the bottom of the cell remains in electrical contact with the negative electrodes and continues to take part in the work of the collector.
