  Schlagwetteranzeiger. 



   Im Patent Nr. 73120 ist ein Schlagwetteranzeiger beschrieben, der im Wesen auf der Verwendung der singenden Flammen oder der sogenannten chemischen Harmonika beruht. Dabei wird das Tönen des Apparates durch eine Flamme hervorgebracht. 



   Die Erfindung besteht darin, dass an Stelle der Flamme eine durch den elektrischen Strom glühend gemachte Platinspirale oder ein Drahtnetz oder ein ähnliches Drahtgebilde verwendet werden. Wenn man den Strom und damit das Glühen so regelt, dass das glühende Gebilde in   schlagwetterfreier   Luft kein Tönen hervorbringt, so kann man beobachten, dass beim Zuströmen explosibler Gase ein Tönen auftritt ; gleichzeitig wird infolge des Auftretens von Verbrennungswärme der glühende Draht heller glühend ; auf diese Weise hat man einerseits ein sichtbares und anderseits ein hörbares Zeichen für das Vorhandensein von Schlagwettern. 



   Die Anordnung kann für praktische Zwecke im Wesen die gleiche sein, wie bei dem oben erwähnten Patent Nr. 73120, an Stelle der Flamme kommt ein Drahtgebilde und an Stelle des üblichen Lampentopfes ein elektrischer Sammler, der imstande ist, das Drahtgebilde zum Glühen zu bringen. 



   Mit der vorliegenden Erfindung ist ein wesentlicher Vorteil verknüpft ; denn die Konstanthaltung der Temperatur ist mit Hilfe des elektrischen Stromes leichter möglich als bei einer Flamme, ausserdem ist bekanntlich das Verbrennen von Methan an glühenden Drähten   weniger, gefährlich   als an freier Flamme, so dass eine grössere Sicherheit gegen Durchschlagen erreicht werden kann.

   In patent no. 73120 a firedamp indicator is described, which is essentially based on the use of the singing flames or the so-called chemical harmonica. The sound of the device is produced by a flame.



   The invention consists in that instead of the flame, a platinum spiral made glowing by the electric current or a wire mesh or a similar wire structure is used. If one regulates the current and thus the glow so that the glowing structure does not produce a sound in fire-weather-free air, one can observe that a sound occurs when explosive gases flow in; at the same time, as a result of the occurrence of heat of combustion, the glowing wire becomes more brightly glowing; In this way one has on the one hand a visible and on the other hand an audible signal for the presence of firedamp.



   For practical purposes, the arrangement can essentially be the same as in the above-mentioned patent no. 73120, in place of the flame a wire structure and in place of the usual lamp pot an electric collector which is able to make the wire structure glow.



   There is an essential advantage associated with the present invention; Because keeping the temperature constant is easier with the help of an electric current than with a flame, besides, it is well known that the burning of methane on glowing wires is less dangerous than on a free flame, so that greater security against penetration can be achieved.
