Description

Process for the production of a Nalgnund.

The subject of the present application is a process for the production of a painting base which has a linen structure (linen grain) and in which process the following measures are used:
A smooth surface, for example a cardboard box, is coated with a suitable glue paint (consisting of boiled glue and so much inorganic powdery colorants such as mountain chalk and zinc white that the paint is still spreadable) and a comb-like tool, for example a multi-toothed sheet of steel, is made by hand or with With the help of a machine once in one direction and a second time immediately or after drying and re-painting the surface at a right angle to the first furrows through the still very wet paint (glue paint)

drawn. If the painted, wet color surface is pulled through immediately in the two directions mentioned above, a simple-looking canvas structure is created. In the case of the drying and repainting of the paint surface that has already passed through in one direction and then in the other direction, another is created. somewhat more complicated canvas structure.

Painting grounds with a linen structure are already known (1). R. P. No. 74806); According to this patent, however, the linen pattern is produced by pressing in before the painting ground is applied, while according to the present application the pattern is only produced in the still damp glue paint (base layer). Furthermore, a drawing paper was also known on which layers of glue paint were applied, which were then provided with incised patterns (Swiss patent No. 65356).

According to this patent, however, two translucent coatings whose colors contrast with one another are supposed to be. be applied. while according to the present application only opaque layers of one and the same shade of color are used and a surface is obtained in the manner of a canvas.
