EMI1.1

Fig. 4 zeigt eine abgeänderte Zahnform.

EMI1.1
The invention relates to spur and bevel gears with straight or inclined teeth, in which the two flanks, measured in the longitudinal direction, are curved in opposite directions with respect to the longitudinal central planes of the tooth. The purpose of this tooth shape is known to reduce the risk of tooth breakage by the fact that the tooth pressure mainly in or near the center of the teeth and not on, even with incorrect installation of two cooperating gears

aie is the greatest. The aim of the invention is to make the production of such gears as simple as possible and at the same time to achieve an ideal tooth shape so that the engagement proceeds smoothly and the gear is silent and jolt-free.
The invention consists in that, in the production of such gearwheels according to the hobbing process, rotating cutting or grinding tools are used, the working surfaces of which are conical.
To explain the invention, FIG. 1 of the drawing shows schematically the known method for producing gear wheels by means of rotating cutting or grinding tools. Fig. 2 shows schematically the method according to the invention. Fig. 3 is a longitudinal section of a tooth of a spur gear of the type mentioned above. Fig. 4 shows a modified tooth shape.

speed is the same on the pitch circles. The working parts of tools 2 and. 3 together form a tooth of an imaginary generation rack in a known manner.
In the method for manufacturing spur gears with curved teeth illustrated in FIG. 2, two rotating tools 2 and 3 are also used and the relative movement between the tools and the workpiece 7 is the same as in the known method described above.
