Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

Electric furnace with gas extraction through nozzles emerging from the furnace shaft.
 EMI1.1
subsequent gas discharge pipes are arranged vertically or almost vertically. This ensures that the dust that gets into the discharge pipes does not get stuck in it and cannot hinder the heat transfer. This also makes the frequent cleaning of the pipes
 EMI1.2
due to the furnace, the nozzles can still be perpendicular within the shaft and the pipe and boiler can be arranged axially to these. But it can also be arranged vertically, the boiler, however, horizontally or inclined.

If the boilers are arranged vertically, it is advantageous to use them with charging containers
 EMI1.3
through which the feed slides into the shaft. The charge surrounding the boiler wall then forms a heat insulator for the boiler, thus preventing useless heat radiation, while also protecting the operating team from annoying heat,
 EMI1.4

Several embodiments of the invention are shown, for example, in the drawing, namely: FIG. 1 shows a furnace in vertical longitudinal section, the boilers on both sides of which are connected to the furnace in various ways; Right longitudinal section of a furnace with vertically arranged boilers and nozzles.

In the drawing, 1 denotes the furnace wall, 2 the charging shaft, 3 the electrodes, 4 the charging platforms, 5 the gas suction nozzles, 6 the gas line pipes, 7 the steam boiler, <S the fresh air nozzles.

The vertically arranged gas suction nozzles (Fig. 3) are expediently arranged and designed in such a way that they simultaneously form the delimitation of the gas intake spaces.

The gas discharge pipes can either have extensions 9 open at the bottom (FIG. I, right) or closable collection bags (FIG. I, left) for removing the dust.

PATENT CLAIMS: I. Electric furnace with gas suction through nozzles emerging from the furnace shaft according to the parent patent Xr. 88166, characterized in that the gas piping pipes adjoining the gas suction nozzle (5), including their steam boiler, are arranged vertically or almost vertically.
