Dauerbrandofen.
EMI1.1

Slow-burning stove.
EMI1.1
Long-burning stoves, which make lighting easier and combustion is favored.
FIGS. I and 2 of the drawing show a long-life furnace built according to the invention in axial section and in horizontal section according to A-A of FIG. 1. FIG. 3 likewise shows the furnace in an axial section.
The space m of the furnace used for lighting is closed off at the top by a thick plate n provided with holes o, which is provided with a circular recess 0 in the center of the bottom. On this plate n rests the cylindrical filling chute a, which is either attached to the plate n by means of a flange attachment or rests loosely on it; in the latter case, the hopper a is equipped with a bottom n1, which is provided with a recess 01 that is congruent with the opening 0 of the plate n, as well as with small perforations 01 which can be made to coincide with that o of the plate n.
To load the filling chute n, the cover h of the furnace shell v is lifted off and a core t, possibly made of wood, is inserted into the chute a, the diameter of which is equal to that of the openings 0.01; The fuel is now tamped into the annular space of the filling shaft it remaining around the core t, so that after the core t has been pulled out, an axial channel connected to the combustion chamber m remains in the tapped fuel.
Now the cover h is put on and a fire is maintained for a short time in the room m with easily inflammable fuel; the flames hit upwards through the opening 0, 01 in the filling shaft and set fire to the pounded fuel, which is consumed from top to bottom or from the inside to the outside. The fire gases pull in the annular cylinder space lying between the jacket and the filling cylinder a, which can also be divided into several trains in a known manner, to the flue pipes w. The small holes o, 01 are used to supply air and ensure that the combustion is complete.
The filling chute n can also be arranged to be removable, in which case it is provided with a separate base n1 and with ears which allow it to be easily lifted out of the jacket v; it is advantageous to add two filling containers to each oven, which facilitates uninterrupted operation of the oven.
