Process for the production of long-lasting, rapidly soluble silver protein preparations.
It was found that you can get through. Treatment of the silver compounds obtainable by the process of patent specifications No. 1304 and No. 6653, the protetin substances with urea or its derivatives can obtain durable preparations which dissolve rapidly in water or aqueous secretions. They are therefore suitable for. B. both for the production of tablets for the rapid preparation of solutions of any concentration and for pressing chopsticks and bougies, which are intended to be used for prophylactic purposes against gonorrheal infections.
The preparation obtainable by the process of patent specification No. 1304 is in itself easily soluble, but only if it is brought to a solution under special precautionary measures, by z. B. carefully powder the dusty powder onto the surface of the required amount of water and leave it to stand without stirring. If this is done, the solution takes about 1/2 to 2 hours, depending on the concentration

and produce up to 50 percent dissolutions in water yourself. However, the connection is by no means rapidly soluble. It also loses an extraordinary amount of solubility if the powder is somewhat clumped together, if it is poured into the water in the form of lumps or if the solution is stirred prematurely. In these cases the substance sinks to the bottom.
It turns into a viscous mass that cannot be brought into solution even after standing and stirring for days. This is the case to an even greater extent when the products of the patent specifications referred to are in a compressed state, that is to say in the form of tablets and sticks. These important dosage forms could not be made accessible for therapy at all, because these silver protein compounds hardly dissolve at all in this form, at least not removed in the time required for therapeutic use. In this regard, the combination of the above-mentioned silver protein compounds with ureas has a great advantage. Chopsticks, which are pressed from such a mixture, dissolve in water with proper shaking or stirring within a few minutes to form almost clear liquids.
You can insert such sticks into the urethra without any worries and be sure that they will soon reach the solution and the corresponding effect there. The rapid dissolution of the tablets made from these silver compounds with the aid of urea also takes place in the same way. They therefore offer the consumer, the doctor or the patient the possibility of quickly preparing fresh solutions of any concentration from a dosed, easy-to-use dispensing form of the silver compound. This is of great value because it is well known that such silver protein solutions work better the fresher they are. Older solutions often tend to cause irritation as a result of changes that the substance undergoes in the solution.
It was surprising that the preparations which can be produced according to the invention would be durable, since the silver compounds are sensitive to light, heat and acids and do not form durable compounds with any salt.

Example: I part of the silver compound obtainable according to Example i of patent specification No. 1304 is intimately mixed with 9 parts of urea. From the product thus obtained, sticks are formed,
Instead of the silver compound mentioned in the example, any other of the bodies mentioned at the outset can be used and instead of urea, methyl or dymethyl urea or another urea derivative can be used. Of course, suitable additions can also be made.
