A pencil sharpener used as a mine protector for mines.

The subject of the invention is a pencil sharpener serving as a lead protector for leads, which can be displaced in a pencil holder and locked in place by a clamping sleeve.

In the present pencil sharpener, the leads are not sharpened by turning the lead, as is the case with the known pencil guards which are used for sharpening pencils and which have a cutting element on their inside, but by turning the lead sharpener. For this purpose, the cap-shaped lead sharpener is designed in such a way that it finds appropriate guidance on the pencil holder or on the clamping sleeve, so that when the lead is pointed, the axis of rotation of the lead sharpener does not fluctuate with respect to the lead axis, which would cause the lead tip to break off.

On the other hand, it is possible to sharpen the lead more or less finely by moving it in the pencil holder, without the lead sharpener experiencing an axial displacement with respect to the pencil holder.

In the drawing, an embodiment of the pencil sharpener according to the invention is shown in its application for a pencil holder with an adjustable lead in longitudinal section.

The pencil sharpener 13 is intended for pencil holders in which the lead is clamped by a clamping sleeve 9, which consists of a conical and a cylindrical part, the latter of which can be screwed onto a cylindrical extension of an annular bead-shaped hollow body 6 firmly connected to the lead guide sleeve 2. In the pencil holder shown, the displacement of the lead is brought about by a screw spindle 4 which is prevented from rotating due to the shape of its head 10, but which is longitudinally displaceable and whose nut 3, which is prevented from longitudinal displacement, is firmly connected to the lead guide sleeve 2 and a locking sleeve 1.

A guide sleeve 7 secured against rotation in the jacket sleeve 5 is used for guiding and mounting the lead sleeve and the locking sleeve 1.

According to the invention, the cap-shaped lead sharpener 13 is now provided in its cavity with two mutually offset conical surfaces 12 and 14, one of which 14 fits on the conical part of the clamping sleeve 9, while the other 12 is provided with file cuts and for sharpening the protruding over the lead sleeve Part of the pencil lead is used. By placing the surface 14 on the clamping sleeve 9 when sharpening the mine by turning the sharpener 13, it is not possible to change the position of the axis of the sharpener relative to the mine axis, so that the mine cannot break even if the sharpener is not handled properly .

On the other hand, by longitudinally shifting the mine by means of the screw spindle 4, it is in the hand to regulate the degree of mine sharpening and to fully utilize the mine except for a very small residue.

The jacket sleeve 5 of the pencil holder is expediently designed at its rear end such that the lead protector or sharpener can be attached when the pencil holder is in use. As the drawing shows in dotted lines, a cap 11 can also be placed on the jacket sleeve, which has an extension whose outer diameter corresponds to the inner diameter of the cylindrical part of the lead sharpener jf3, so that the latter can be attached to this cap 11.
