Ablaufrichters b sitzendes Zylinderschütz c geschlossen gehalten.

Automatic loading device for trickling filters.
The subject of the Elfindùng is an automatic, reliably operating device, which is mainly intended for the intermittent loading of trickling filter systems, but 'also' for flushing channels and the like. Like. Can serve. The invention consists in the device characterized in the claim and described below.
In the drawing, an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown, namely through FIG. 1 in a vertical center section and through FIG. 2 on the left in a top view. right in the horizontal section along line 2-2 of Fig. I.
The emptying opening in the bottom a of the storage basin is through a with his during the sewage accumulation. beveled lower edge on the sloping wall of the
Process judge b seated cylinder contactor c kept closed. On this contactor there is one coaxially arranged in it by means of three chain hoists e guided over rollers d
Water ballast tray f suspended. In the wall of the gate c, for example, three overflow pipes g acting as siphons are attached at the level of the backwater level, the longer leg of which protrudes into the shell f.
The latter has in the middle of its funnel-shaped xr bottom an outlet connection h, on the upper edge of which a valve ball i sits. This is by means of a rod k on one
Suspended at the end of an isosceles balance beam l. At the other end of the same, a small disk n is also suspended by means of a rod m, on which a
Swimmer o is able to touch down who is standing at a distance on the floor a
Sheet metal cylinder p is loosely guided ..
Three standing columns q are screwed into the bottom flange of the funnel b, on which the contactor c is guided by means of the arms used to fasten the chains e and which carry a ring r on top on which the bearings s of the rollers d and the scales - balkens l sit. The contactor c is closed at the bottom by a sheet metal funnel t with an opening u, in order to prevent too much air from being carried away by the falling water when the reservoir is emptied.
The device works as follows:
When the water in the reservoir has reached the intended storage height, it flows in
Part through the pipes g over into the shell f, which fills up quickly because its outlet connection h is closed by the valve ball i. The weight of the empty shell f is smaller, that of the filled shell is greater than the weight of the contactor c by an amount that exceeds the frictional resistance. Therefore the bowl f descends as soon as it is filled; in doing so, it pulls up the contactor c by means of the chains e, so that this releases the emptying opening in the bottom a of the storage basin. As a result, the water runs out of the
The reservoir through the funnel b. When the contactor is raised, the. The siphon pipes are out of action so that no more water overflows into the bowl.
With the water level in the reservoir, the float o in the cylinder p also falls, and after the basin has been emptied, this float sits on the disk n, which when the
Shell f has been pulled up by the sunk ball i (see dotted lines in Fig. I). The weight of the swimmer then overcomes that of the valve ball i together with the water column above it; the float therefore pulls by means of the lever 1

Ball i upwards, so that it releases the drainage port h of the shell / and the latter empties.
As a result, the heavier contactor c lowers so that it closes the drain funnel b again, while the bowl f rises so that its drain connector h is also closed again by the ball i. With the. If the water in the reservoir rises again, the float c.
