Oesterreichische PATENTSCHRIFT Nit 8599.

Austrian PATENT NIT 8599.
CLASSE 19: RAILWAY, ROAD AND BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION. b) Road and bridge construction.
DR. FRANZ BÜTTNER IN MUNICH.
Process for binding the dust on streets, squares or the like.
It is known to use petroleum to bind dust on iron bars and pavement. A mixture of heavy crude oil and pitch for macadam paths has also been suggested by dousing the dust mass with it, then raking it vigorously and rolling it down after sprinkling it with water. Here, however, it has been found that a mixture of the poured mass with the dust that meets all requirements cannot be achieved. At first, the dust does not take on the at least somewhat viscous mass; it splashes out of the prepared channels during rolling and adheres to the roller.
Experiments which led to the present process have shown that these scabies can be avoided if the soil is soaked beforehand with lighter petroleum or the like.
This method also has the advantage that it can also be used for road pilasters where there is no dust yet to prevent dust formation.
In order to treat unpaired, dusty paths, the appropriate procedure is as follows.
The paths to be treated, covered with Shmb, are first impregnated with light petroleum, petroleum. Then, as soon as the light crude oil has been absorbed, it is expedient to work into the dust mass by means of a corrugated roller or the like. Massut, residuals and the like. Cast. The mass is then leveled with a smooth board or the like and left alone until it has cooled completely, after which it is rolled down with a smooth roller.

the temperature approaches the freezing point, but in this state it does not increase in expansion like water at 00, it is particularly suitable to protect the pavements, road embankments and pavements against all damage caused by penetrating water when freezing, especially by throwing it up , Buoyancy, as well as against the destruction of the road surface by thaw and the like. s. w.
