PATENT-ANSPRÜCHE : i.

Process for removing metal cores from tungsten wire and similar spirals.
From light or. For lamp technology reasons, it is well known that the incandescent body of electric incandescent lamps has recently been brought into a tightly wound spiral shape. The winding of the spirals is very difficult with the extremely small diameters that come into question. B. made of iron wire, from the very finest tungsten wire spirals difficult to carry out by hand without deformation. Removal of the soul by chemical means, e.g. B. boiling with acid also seems impractical, since the resulting salts (e.g. ferric chloride) do not remain without their effect on the incandescent body.
The invention now allows tungsten-molybdenum. Platinum, etc. To create spirals out of the soul without mechanical deformation and chemical change, namely the method of the invention consists in an electrolytically effected dissolution of the soul.
For this purpose the soul is brought into an acid bath with the spiral as the positive pole on a direct current circuit. A metal or carbon plate forms the negative pole. The spirals can advantageously be placed in the bath on a conductive fork (Fig. I), in a conductive basket (Fig. 2) or in any other conductive support, finally in a hanging position (Fig. 3).
One embodiment of the method is, for example, the following:
In a sulfuric acid bath with a content of five percent by weight of pure sulfuric acid, a Ph1. Drink basket, in which the spirals with the souls to be removed are inserted, as an anode with a current density of 2.5 to 2-7 amps at i M? Hooked in surface surface. Immediately, accompanied by a strong development of gas, a rapid and quantitative dissolution of the soul sets in.
A simplified embodiment of the method consists in that z. B. by appropriate selection of the core metal takes precautions that a so-called inner

acid. Detachment is possible without an external power supply, which of course takes a longer time than in the case of the first embodiment.
