Beleuchtungsvorrichtung für photographische Reprodukt ! ons-, Vergrösserungs-und
Verkleinerungszwecke.

Lighting device for photographic reproductions! ons-, magnification and
Reduction purposes.
The present invention essentially consists in the fact that the fluoroscopy of images produced on a transparent base is carried out in direct light, not as previously usual, by one or only a few relatively very strong light sources with the aid of lens systems (condenser), but by the close juxtaposition of a number of smaller ones

the extensive reduction in the required dimensions of the apparatus, which not only makes it possible to manufacture photographic enlarging apparatuses as mass-produced items at low prices, but also allows a far more favorable use of light in the apparatus itself. Another advantage for practical work is the elimination of any centering and distancing difficulties.
In FIG. I of the drawing, b represents the transparency to be evenly transilluminated, which is illuminated by the light sources 1 arranged on the vertical support surface with the interposition of the diffusing media m1 and (focusing screens, leg glasses). To increase the lighting intensity, the lighting elements can be offset from one another, arranged in two groups, as in FIG. 2, where the elements 1 a of one group are embedded between the elements 11 of the other group. For this purpose, it would also be possible, as FIG. 3 shows, to arrange the lighting fixtures, which are offset from one another, on two different supporting surfaces, t1 and, however, the first, t1, having to consist of transparent material.
A use of closely lined up cylindrical lighting fixtures (e.g. electric tube lamps) for this purpose is shown in FIG. 4.
The lighting elements do not always have to be arranged on planes, but can be fitted on the inside or outside of polyhedral surfaces, spherical or rotational body caps, etc. for specific purposes. An application on the inside of a spherical cap is shown in FIG. 5.
6 shows a photographic enlarging or reducing apparatus A, the board or frame carrying the lighting elements being denoted by t and being arranged with the glass image b to be illuminated or its holder h as well as the light-scattering media ml and on a common slide w , which can be brought to various distances from the reproducing objective using the spindle screw z. To regulate the light, each lighting element can be switched on or off by a corresponding switch s. The wing t is also designed to be foldable into the horizontal position with the aid of the hinge at k for the purpose of easier accessibility.
Fig. 7 shows a construction showing the upgrading of a photographic taking camera A to the enlarging apparatus. The combination of image holder h, diffusing media 1nt, ma and lighting apparatus to form a slide adjustable by means of a screw spindle is similar to that in FIG. 6.
Only here is the partial light regulation in such a way that the surface t carrying the lighting elements can be rotated around a horizontal axis a1 as well as around a vertical axis by means of adjusting screws, while the spindle screws 11 are used to correctly distance the entire device from the reproducing lens,
The use of the same lighting principle for converting the known daylight magnifiers into those with artificial light is shown in Fig. 8. A is the head of the magnification

apparatus that carries the glass picture to be enlarged at b.
B is the combination of lighting elements 1 and diffusing media 1n1 and 1n2 in a box that can be placed on the head of the enlarger.
