Bei Sparkochern, die zwei oder mehrere Heizlöcher und ein Bratrohr besitzen, streichen die Heizgase vom Feuerraum über das Bratrohr zum Abzugskanal und von dort in den Küchenherd oder Zimmerofen :
Da diese Kocher wegen der Brennstoffersparnis möglichst klein gehalten sind, können die Heizlöcher nicht so angeordnet sein, wie es für eine gute Ausnutzung der Heizgase notwendig wäre. Aus diesem Grunde findet bei dem über dem Feuerraum vorgesehenen Hauptheizloch nur eine unvollkommene Wärmeausnutzung statt.
In Fig. i ist ein solcher Kocher im senkrechten Schnitt, in Fig. 2 im Grundriss dargestellt. Mit a ist der Feuerraum, mit A das Hauptheizloch, mit ho dans zweite Heizloch, mit b die Bratröhre, mit c die Abzugskanäle des Sparkochers und mit m das Lenkblech bezeichnet.
Um die Heizgase zu zwingen, das Hauptheizloch besser zu bestreichen, ist an der dem Feuerraum zugekehrten Wand des Bratrohres ein Ablenkungsblech angeordnet.
In Fig. 3 ist mit dem strichlierten Pfeil Z1 die Abzugsrichtung der Heizgase ohne Anordnung des Lenkbleches angedeutet ; der voll ausgezogene Pfeil stellt die ungefähre Strömungsrichtung nach Anbringung des Lenkbleches dar.
Bei Sparkochern mit Bratrohr oder mehreren Heizlöchern wird oft nur das Hauptheizloch k benutzt ; durch diese Verwendung des Lenkbleches werden die Heizgase zu dem
Herdloch hingedrängt, geben dort ihre Wärme ab und streichen ziemlich erkaltet in die Esse.
Anstatt ein Lenkblech an der Bratrohrwand anzubringen, könnte diese selbst ent. sprechend geformt sein. Nur die Kosten würden sich entsprechend höher stellen.

In the case of economy cookers that have two or more heating holes and a roasting pipe, the heating gases sweep from the combustion chamber via the roasting pipe to the exhaust duct and from there into the kitchen stove or room oven:
Since these stoves are kept as small as possible to save fuel, the heating holes cannot be arranged in the way that would be necessary for good utilization of the heating gases. For this reason, only an incomplete heat utilization takes place in the main heating hole provided above the furnace.
Such a cooker is shown in vertical section in FIG. 1 and in plan view in FIG. With a is the furnace, with A the main heating hole, with ho dans the second heating hole, with b the roasting tube, with c the exhaust ducts of the economy cooker and with m the steering plate.
In order to force the heating gases to coat the main heating hole better, a deflector plate is arranged on the wall of the roasting tube facing the furnace.
In Fig. 3, the dashed arrow Z1 indicates the withdrawal direction of the heating gases without the arrangement of the baffle; the solid arrow represents the approximate direction of flow after the guide plate has been attached.
Often only the main heating hole k is used in the case of economy cookers with a roasting pipe or several heating holes; through this use of the baffle, the heating gases become the
