in order to be able to easily bring the quantity of petroleum and gasoline required for the mixture into the container 1, from where the mixture passes through the pipe h into the cylinder a provided with a diffusion screen s, while the air enters the feed pipe heated by the burner 15, 16 is driven by means of a fan 2, which can be set in rapid rotation by a gear 3, 4,5, ss. A pipe 7 provided with a shut-off valve 8 and opening into the cylinder a via the insert 1 branches off from the air supply pipe in order to be able to regulate the air content of the gas precisely in a known manner.
The use of a mixture of gasoline and kerosene, as well as the application of absorbent material between two parallel layers of wire nets in the production of air gas, is already known (English patent specification No. 2060 from 1899.)
If the apparatus is to be put into operation, the cylinder is filled with the liquid so high that it also rises into the uppermost layer of absorbent material, whereupon air is supplied and the resulting gas is discharged. respectively is used.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. A process for the production of air gas poor in hydrocarbons from a mixture of petroleum and gasoline, characterized in that a mixture of one part by weight of petroleum and three parts by weight of gasoline is gasified with an amount of air which is approximately three times as large as the theoretical required for combustion
Amount of air, it being possible in a known manner to add excess air to the air gases richer in hydrocarbons in order to achieve this ratio between air and hydrocarbons, for the purpose of generating an air gas. which when ignited only flares up temporarily, but which, directed against hot porous surfaces (incandescent bodies), burns on them with intense local heat.
