Description

PATENT-ANSPRÜCHE : i.

Method of insulating electrical conductors.
According to the invention, electrical conductors are insulated in such a way that the insulating tape is wetted by dipping it in Zellon impregnation compound (acetyl cellulose) and then applied to the conductor in the wet state. To carry out this process, the roll of tape is accommodated in a known winding container filled with the impregnating compound. from which the tape is pulled out to the required length if necessary.
This method has the advantage over the previously used method that the tape contracts when it dries so that it completely tightly encloses the conductor.
When the impregnation compound solidifies, it gives the insulation the strength of the cellon in the undissolved state.
This insulation also has a high insulation level. Resistance to air and sun, 01, grease, petroleum, gasoline. Benzene. Turpentine, dilute acids, gas, etc.; it is also extremely heat-resistant and does not become brittle and cracked by the temperature change. In addition to electrical insulation purposes, it can therefore also be used to protect metals against atmospheric influences.
PATENT CLAIMS: i. Method for insulating electrical conductors, characterized. that the insulating tape is wetted by dipping it in Zellon impregnation compound and then applied to the conductor in the wet state.
