Das Einstellen des Zünders auf die gewünschte Brennlänge geschieht durch Drehen des Stellkegels f, bis die   St. 1'Ìohmarke q   mit dem gewünschten   Entfernungeteilstrich   übereinstimmt. 



  Der Kanal g bzw. die darin befindliche Säule aus Pulverzylindern kreuzt alsdann die Satzrillen d an einer ganz bestimmten Stelle. Beim Schussabgang entzündet der Feuerstrahl der Zeitzündung durch das Feuerloch e den Anfang des Pulversatzes in den Satzrillen d. Dieser brennt bis zu der eingestellten   Brennlange   (wobei die entstehenden Gase durch die Dutchlochungen der Deckplatte n und die Bohrungen der Druckschraube o entweichen). In diesem Augenblick wird das Feuer von der Pulverfüllung des Kanals g aufgenommen und durch das Durchschlagsloch   m   in die Schlagkammer i und von dieser durch den Kanal k in die Sprengladung des Geschosses weitergeleitet.

PATENT CLAIM: Igniter with a long burning time, characterized in that the powder batch is pressed into grooves which are worked into the outer surface of a cone or cylinder in a zigzag or undulating manner and are crossed by a powder channel which, when the powder batch burns off to the desired point that picks up fire from the intersection and directs it into the explosive charge of the projectile.
