Projectile with a charge that makes its flight path visible.
The invention relates to projectiles whose flight path is made visible by a charge (e.g. smoke charge).
The drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention, specifically FIG. 1 shows a longitudinal section, partly in view, of the FIG

Way is set up so that it takes effect when the projectile is fired. The igniter is used to ignite a smoke charge D that fills the housing B. In order to allow the flame of the smoke charge to exit the housing B, holes b5 are provided in the housing parts b1 and b2.
The connection of the housing B to the bullet is made by a bayonet lock, which consists of several r-shaped slots b9 cut into the flange & * and the base ba and of bolts a1 screwed into the tip of the bullet.
When the projectile is fired, the igniter C comes into effect and ignites the smoke charge D. The one that forms when the smoke charge is burned

so that one can observe the position of the flight path to the target.
The easily detachable connection of the housing B to the projectile provides the advantage that the projectile can be burned with or without smoke charge as required.
In order to enable the firing of projectiles provided with the smoke charge and projectiles without smoke charge from one and the same guns directly one after the other without having to use other firing boards and a different setting of the sighting device, the housing B has an external shape such that the Projectile has approximately the same trajectory with one and the same elevation of the gun and with the same propellant charge with or without smoke charge.
This effect is made possible by the fact that the housing B has a slim shape, so that the projectile fired with the smoke charge has less air resistance than the projectile without smoke charge. By reducing the air resistance, however, the influence that the weight growth of the projectile caused by the casing with smoke charge exerts on the muzzle velocity and thus on the trajectory of the projectile is almost compensated for.
